Šafaříkova 635/24, Hlavní město Praha, Czech Republic · Mongolia

People in Need (PIN) launched its programming in Mongolia towards the end of 2009, when it provided emergency assistance to herders affected by dzud, an extremely harsh winter. With the goals to save lives and protect dignity, empower people and support sustainable living, PIN established its permanent presence in Mongolia in 2011. Today, apart from providing emergency relief, PIN’s programs in Mongolia support urban sustainable development, support rural livelihoods through building the capacity of cooperatives and providing DRR and resilience programs for herders, build the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) and local authorities, strengthen higher education, promote environmental protection and raise awareness on air pollution.

The country program is currently staffed with 2 international and 14 local colleagues, and 1 international volunteers. The Country Director will have to demonstrate a good balance between independent management and consultation with HQ, and team work to ensure compliance with PIN processes and allow for supervision in relation to organizational and donor rules.
